Orange County Department of Education| Project Manager, Grants & Funding

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is a public education organization offering support services to 27 school districts and more than 600 schools and 20,000 educators serving over 500,000 students in Orange County. The Office of Grants and Funding provides support and technical assistance to Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) staff and partners in all aspects of funding development.

OCDE is seeking a knowledgeable professional to serve as Project Manager, Grants & Funding who will assist OCDE programs and management staff with grant development, writing and submission processes by analyzing data reports, reviewing trends, and evaluating and sharing information to support the development of competitive proposals. The selected candidate will also conduct research into potential funding sources.

Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, course work in education, alternative education, counseling, social work, or a related field.

Experience: Three years in competitive grant proposal writing and fund development. Desirable, but not required: Experience in grant development for school and/or community-based programs; completed grant writing/management coursework, workshops, or trainings; certification of fund development competencies through a professional association.

Before receiving authorization to work in this position, the individual selected will be required to provide a current negative TB authorization, within the last 60 days, and submit fingerprints for the purpose of conducting a confidential background investigation and record check. The tests are arranged and paid for by OCDE.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires employers to verify the employability of all new employees. Before the Department will finalize an offer of employment, the candidate selected will be required to show original documents which establish both the individual’s identity and employment authorization. The candidate must also sign a statement under penalty of perjury regarding his/her employability.
